John McCallen by Mark Jenkins

As part of our 5 year anniversary celebration, I have brought on several new models as well as several new photographers.  We have been shooting since late May with all of this new talent and I am getting to see the results and am LOVING what I am seeing.

Take John McCallen for example.  John joined Mega Muscle in May and he worked for the first time last month with Mark Jenkins.  I have to admit, I was expecting good photos but I wasn’t expecting them to be this HOT!  There must have definitely been some chemistry between John and Mark.

While Mark and I have worked together on numerous occasions previously, this is the first time he has ever actually shot something for Mega Muscle.  This summer Mark has been shooting the Mega Muscle models for our 2010 calendar and finally I am getting results!

Happy Hump Day!

Alright, I admit it – I almost missed it.  I am in Palm Springs this week preparing for the Mega Muscle Photography Expo in October and I completely spaced on Hump Day until just now.  Luckily it’s still 7:00 pm on the West Coast and Hawaii and Alaska still have several hours of Hump Day left.

Meet Zach Whitaker, a competitive bodybuilder but we love his flawless complexion and great blonde hair!  From the Seattle area, Zach has been to several events with us and is going to be appearing in his own videos coming out this Fall.

Mega Muscle’s Newest Face – Kevin Taylor

Sometimes you don’t have to look any futher than your own backyard to find the things you want.  I was recently forwarded an email from my assistant which contained photos of a blonde, blue eyed muscle-bound stud, the likes of which we have not had at Mega Muscle in a couple of years.  Imagine how astounded I was that this guy lives less than fifteen minutes from my house – we work out at the same gym!

I am thrilled to introduce Mega Muscle’s newest face – Kevin Taylor!  While he is new to Mega Muscle, many of you probably recognize him from his many, many ad campaigns and commercials.  We already have him scheduled to work with both Mark Jenkins and Steve Henry in the next couple of weeks and he will be joining us for the Mega Muscle Photography Expo in Palm Springs!  I also just found out he is an amazing photographer in his own right so maybe with a little persuasion, we will get him to contribute some photography to the Mega Muscle team!

Fit at forty, fit forever – Happy 40th Lance!

Today (August 7) is the 40th birthday of one of my closest friends and biggest inspirations, Lance LaMar.  Let’s face it.  None of us are getting any younger and as we age, it stays harder and harder to stay in the best shape we can.  Through diet, exercise and some of the most focused mental energy I have ever witnessed, Lance not only looks as good as he did when he started modeling, he looks BETTER!

I first met Lance through his business partner Riley (also a Mega Muscle model).  They are partners on fitness centers in the Miami Beach, Florida area called Peak Physique Fitness.  This is more than just personal training, it is a complete approach to a lifestyle that keeps Lance, Riley and tons of other people in the Miami area looking their best.  The approach is natural, and it blends physical health with mental health.

While I first officially met Lance when he became a Mega Muscle model, I have known of him since I was actually in high school.  I remember seeing him in fitness magazines and when I actually launched Mega Muscle, two years before meeting him in person, I actually had a magazine pictorial with him in it that I used to describe to my first business partner as to what I wanted the men of Mega Muscle aspire to.

So today, on Lance LaMar’s 40th birthday, I want to thank him for being such an inspiration to not just me but to all of the guys here at Mega Muscle.  More importantly though, I want to thank him for being such a great friend to me through the years we have worked together.

On today, Lance’s birthday, I am honored to announce that this fall, he and I will be releasing a series of books and DVDs to inspire us all to be fit in our 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s and forever.

Happy Birthday to you Lance from all of us at Mega Muscle.  Many more years of health and happiness!

They grow them big in Alaska!

Hey everyone!
Sorry there haven’t been many updates as of late.  I had to take a break and decided to head North, WAY North up to Alaska!  If you have never seen Alaska, you definitely should take the time to get up there.  You get up close with wild animals (I saw several bears and tons of bald eagles), there is spectacular glaciers, mountains and bays, and I will tell you what — there is nothing that compares to the men in Alaska!  These guys are as rugged as the terrain around them and even I, who grew up in rural Colorado, had to admit that I was impressed with how tough these guys are.

As many of you know, one of our very own guys, JB Wassil, is from a small town in Alaska and he is always up for showing us around.  He is a professional rock climber and never hesitates to show off his serious skills.  Enjoy!
